Hard drive crashes are a fact of life. And since hard drives store our precious photos, music, videos, and other files, it’s best to prepare for a crash – it’s best to back up all the data you don’t want to lose. That is something you can easily do with Norton Online Backup. This is a tool that offers “set and forget” or “set-it and forget-it” backup functionality.

Norton Online Backup is compatible with 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows – Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP. Norton Online Backup is also compatible with versions of Mac OS X – 10.5 Leopard, 10.6 Snow Leopard, 10.7 Lion.

Norton Online Backup uses a web interface; it uses your web browser to let you access the data backup functionality it has to offer. It must be mentioned here that Norton Online Backup is compatible with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, Mozilla’s Firefox, Google’s Chrome, and Apple’s Safari.

To get started with Norton Online Backup you need to log into your Norton account if you already have one or create an account if you don’t have one. After that a wizard will help you set up the backup process: pick a source, select the file types that will be backed up, upload up to 25GB of data to the cloud. After performing the first backup, Norton Online Backup will monitor the source you specify; if new files are added to the source, they will be backed up automatically.

Norton Online Backup is free to use for a trial period of 30 days.

Use Norton Online Backup to back up your music, videos, pictures, emails, office documents, contacts, and more.
